I have always loathed hippies even as a child. Had an uncle who was at Kent State during peak hippie and he was either one or a hippie-sympathizer.
Even then I questioned how it was they were all "doing their own thing" in exactly the same way as everyone else. Plus they all smelled.
But at least it's looking like I will live long enough to eventually experience a world without hippies. That said, there were plenty of admirable and remarkable people of that generation who didn't succumb to the hippie virus. I will miss and mourn them.
