250,000 in pa seems low. The shocking thing to me is that 34 percent are homeowners. My wife has a green card and a full time job and she couldn't be on the fha mortgage of the house we bought last year.

Why not? Bad credit rating? Not enough work history? Her having a green card wouldn't have been the issue.

You don't have to be a US citizen to buy a house in the US. Different loan companies have different requirements for who they give a loan to, though.
