It was a real TV show back in the 1950s. I used to watch it on Saturday mornings. His plane was called the Songbird. His niece, Penny, was on the shows.
He was a real submaine & Senator : "Richard B. Russell's construction was awarded on 25 July 1969 ... Mrs. Ina Russell Stacey, sister and official hostess for Senator Russell. Richard B. Russell was launched at Newport News on 12 January 1974, sponsored by Mrs. Leila Elizabeth (Betty) Talmadge (née Shingler), wife of Herman E. Talmadge (1913–2002), U.S. Senator from Georgia (1957–1981)"
Interesting they made a documentary on this. Came out today. Richard Beebo Russell. We all know there is much more to the story than what the public was told. Q400!
I have not watched it yet. I may at lunchtime if I get time.
I used to watch "Sky King" on Saturday mornings when I was a child in the late 50s and early 60s. He owned a ranch and a private plane called the Songbird.
Interesting Songbird...When does a bird sing?
Cattle rancher King often captured criminals and spies and found lost hikers, doing so with the use of his airplane, the Songbird. Two twin-engine Cessna airplanes were used by King during the course of the television series
SkyKing.....forever in our hearts....
If he was a real person...

where is the link?
I don't think Hulu has links to their shows. If you have Hulu it's on the front page or you can search Sky King.
