From what I hear, he is to the right of Orban in both immigration and Ukraine funding. But he is more friendly to EU and Nato. The only way all this would make sense is if EU is going to move towards Hungary and not the other way around.
In the current climate, that may happen, if the financial effects become visible. It may very well be, that EU reform happens from within, and then a retreat from the current course is made. The whole EU structure has to make itself superfluous (it is already, but turning back the clock on certain things is difficult.) After all, it is ALWAYS about not the money, but the DEBT.
Trump has cut most of the financial strings from EU so that their choice is either collapse or restructure. To restructure, they need to normalize their relations with Russia and they need to cut loose Ukraine.
The new Hungary, looks like, can help with both. Having demonised Orban for a decade, it would have been a hard sell to try and use Hungary for anything productive while Orban is still its president. Switching president to someone else (sold as opposing Orban) is required for optical reasons as well.
On a different note: the replacement of Fidez, simply the infrastructure, with a new party + leadership, may have a cleaning effect. In 16 years, certain elements corrupt and are corrupted, becoming a dead weight.
It might happen. I am now seeing European nations like Denmark and others paying people to immigrate or be tourists there because so many are jumping ships.

Correct.

Good points! Thanks!

Replacing it may proof advantageous.
Not to mention all the DS assets slowly embedded into that party as Victor managed to keep control even as so many attacks were launched against him.

Uphold Orban's Ukraine war funding policy or bust.
Will see.
His name is MAGYAR?

That is like being named Sam, Uncle Sam or John America.
