Remarkable how far and wide the confusion on this subject that still exists on this board after literally hundreds of threads over the years. The naysayers, the fear-mongering, the COMPLETE LACK OF COMPREHENSION...and of course, the background fear.
This is so simple. Almost everybody is twisted up in Gordian knots of their own making.
Here's the first thing I now tell everybody. It's the easiest thing in the world to not pay your taxes. You basically have to do NOTHING....literally. I'll tell you exactly how to do it, and you'll never have to pay them again. There's just one catch. The IRS is never going to send you a letter or give you a phone call telling you that you're "off the hook". That's never going to happen. Can you live with that?
95% of people can't. They want the fictional IRS or gubmint to give them their blessing. Without it, fear overrides truth and facts every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
