I was there in the early eighties. I was not very impressed. Then again, I never have been attracted to any big cities. Too many people and too congested. I prefer more space.
No it wasn't. I was stopped at a red light on one of the steepest hills in the downtown area of the city. The light changed before I could get through the intersection. Then a huge truck stopped behind me almost right on my rear bumper. I managed to get through the intersection without much rollback - in fact, none at all. I was driving a bit of a muscle car at the time so it had some power and weight to it. Despite the weight, the car was still pretty quick off the line. The experience there made me realize that driving a stick in the heart of SF was not a good choice.
I didn't particularly like the place so I wasn't there long. Too many bums and the downtown was dirtier than I had envisioned. I got food poisoning my second day there from a well known restaurant and spent several days trying to recover. My trip was pretty much a bust. Been back a couple times since then and can't say my opinion of the place has changed much.
To be honest, I haven't been in any major city that overall impressed me. SF, LA, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Memphis, etc. Just too noisy and too many crazy people for my liking. A person has to like being in the chaos of that kind of environment. That's okay. It's just not me.
I love the ocean air and the good food. I was definitely used to the big cities. I was at the time in Portland Oregon so moving to a bigger city wasn't hard for me. I wouldn't be caught dead in a big city right now. Too many crazies.
No one wants to be in CA much less SF.
You are right. Not right now.
I used to live there in my younger days. It was beautiful.

I like the topography.

So you know what it looked like before we got here ? Because that tower is an eye sore. No garbage like that would have been built 400 years ago.
And yet, liberals will continue to gaslight instead facing the misuc
Of course. Liars will forever lie. I know some of them.

Most of us, if we admit to the truth, know some of them.
They were attacking us daily at work. They are a little quiet lately. Something is shifting but they are SLLLOOOWWW to learn.
Oh, not cool, but maybe they learn recently.
