Acting FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton was fired in May 2025 by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem after publicly opposing the administration's plans to eliminate FEMA. Hamilton told Congress he believed the agency was essential, contradicting Noem’s earlier testimony to lawmakers that FEMA should be eliminated.
