Albert Pike, the Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite Freemasonry, asserted in his authoritative work Morals and Dogma that the doctrines, secrets, and symbols of Freemasonry originate from the Jewish Kabbalah.

Pike explicitly stated that "All truly dogmatic religions have issued from the Kabalah and return to it," arguing that all Masonic associations owe their secrets and symbols to this Jewish mystical tradition. He further claimed that the scientific and grand aspects of religious dreams from figures like Jacob Boehme and Swedenborg were borrowed from the Kabbalah, which he identified as the source of all occult sciences.
