As a Canadian, when I drive across the border, the only thing they ever ask me is my citizenship, where I'd been, and whether I'm bringing in taxable goods. They don't care about drugs or illegal guns getting in, just tax money.
Hmmm, I’m in Alaska, our flights from lower 48, does the same thing. Domestic flights luggage is not check. NOW, over seas fights are inspected. So this newscaster is this an international airport, lacking inspectors if so that’s a problem.
Back to Alaska you can bring in from let’s say Texas, twenty lbs of weed, TSA, in Texas, would scan the luggage and notice it, if not, it goes to Alaska, then to the lower level of the airport and anyone can grab the bag ANYONE
