Oh, with me it's more like that line from the song "...where have you gone Joe DiMaggio, our nation turns its lowly eyes to you."
I grew up in a time of simple heroes and I have a nostalgic longing for a time when people actually could believe in heroes in all walks of life including law and justice.
It must be horrible to be a child now. There are too few heroes and even when there are some -- there is always someone there digging around trying to find some kind of dirt hoping to prove they aren't heroes after all.
But people and things that you can.be inspired by and want to live up to? Children don't have that in public figures too much nowadays.
Once upon a time, you could even (and this will be very difficult for you to believe) find virtue in newspaper reporters! I kid you not! There is a movie called "Call Northside 777". It's based on a true story about a newspaper reporter. I won't give away the plot because you must find a copy of this film and see it -- but I remember seeing this movie for the first time when I was about eleven years old and thinking to myself how wonderful it was that people as dedicated as news reporters existed. That was THEN. Now...well, it's certainly not the case anymore.
I want the Joe DiMaggio's (in terms of heroic images) back in all professions.
That's what I meant. I guess what I really want in a court room is a real life Perry Mason sitting on the bench.
Edited to add: I checked and "Call Northside 777" is available on YouTube for free.
Its not disrespect because the judiciary deserves none. Theyre whores and this is typical of the corrupt legal barr.
