There is always great medical stuff posted here, so I wanted to add something I have had amazing results with. I call it PINEYsporin.
Mine has the same texture as polysporin, but you can adjust it. It healed up a dry/flaky skin problem I have been struggling with for months, in just a few days, I was amazed. It is not sticky and smells very pleasant. I don't use it on fresh cuts, I use honey for that, but it would probably be fine.
1 part pine resin (cleaner the better, but dirt can be filtered or allowed to settle/float out)
2-4 parts coconut oil (I used 3. Olive oil works too, probably tallow as well, or oil blends)
0.5-1 parts beeswax (I used half a part. It helps it blend/stick and sets the consistency)
Put it in a small mason jar or similar heat proof glass. Put on a cookie sheet and put in the oven on warm. (160-190F) Let it melt. Stir that shit. Filter, or not. Let cool. Stir whilst cooling a time or two.
Too runny? Remelt and add more beeswax.
Too thick? Remelt and add more oil.
Too sticky? Remelt and add more oil.
Not piney enough? Remelt and add more resin.
Cheers frens!
I rubbed it in (hands, finger) really good for 15-30 seconds. Rinsed with warm water to even it out and remove the excess. Patted to dry.
The only evidence it was ever there is the moister skin and lovely smell. Smells nice for an hour or more. Not sticky or greasy at all. Zero.
On my foot I never rinsed it off, just put on socks. Socks smelled great and went through the laundry fine.
My index finger went from cracking and peeling to much better overnight and it was 100% perfect in less than a week. 100%. I can't even see where it was.
Used it a few times a day, especially after washing.
Still using it for prevention, and because it smells great. Eau-de-lumberjack.
Thank Q for sharing! Hits close to home. We make this same stuff in Latvia and incorporate it into skin care and other systems. Balms, chapstick, soaps, candles, insect repellent, etc. It all works extremely well from my experience.
I hope to establish a few bee boxes to our garden come next year. I've been holding off for the longest time as we have someone allergic to bee stings nearby, but I think distance should be enough caution to exercise.
I will 100% be doing that in future. I saw some videos about it and decided to give it a try. I was amazed, I had to share with y'all.
Thank YOU for sharing fren! ✨😸
You're very welcome fren.
You can still buy turpentine at a pharmacy. I am 63 and my dad swore by the stuff. Used it on cuts etc to take the soreness out.
