Even worse than that, judges get to decide what evidence is heard in a jury trial. Just look at the evidence that the judge refused to be allowed in the E Jean Carroll case. https://tierneyrealnewsnetwork.substack.com/p/the-insanity-of-the-e-jean-carroll
And they filter out jurors, give jurors instructions about what they can and can't do, holding them in contempt as they please, and if that doesn't work they can even nullify jury decisions.
