If we remember the Orion Cube, if you subtract all the extreme mythos and alien twists, it was a probabilistic outcome determination device. That's pretty much what AI is today. So, was AI some DARPA project that "got released?" Does AI overlap the Orion Cube concept, yes, very strongly. Could the Orion Cube story be a wrapper for AI-like-future modeling? Yes, very plausible. There's probably a 90% overlap in capabilities, if you understand the Orion Cube theories. It's possible that the Orion Cube was the "starter pistol" to develop the AI that we know today. I have no specific knowledge, but the overlap is worth a glance.
