Holy Father, I probably live in one of the coldest countries in the world right now but still, the mass media is dooming us because of a temporary hheat wave. Schools and administrations are either closing or allowing remote work. I chose to keep going to the office as I consider I am supposed to feel hot in summer. I believe people don’t feel hot, they fear feeling hot as they can’t agree on what’s too hot and eventually bad for their health. We are not machines and we are not doomed. That is what the others wish we were. We are blessed with a sense of adaptation and a great tolerance to most extreme conditions. I praise You for not only making us strong but also to make it a certainty.

AGENDA

Religious Observances

In Christianity, June 24 marks the Nativity of John the Baptist, commemorating the birth of the prophet foretold in the Gospel of Luke as preceding Jesus' birth by six months (Luke 1:36, 57). This date aligns with the traditional calculation from the Annunciation on March 25 and Christmas on December 25, positioning John's nativity at midsummer to reflect the biblical timeline of Elizabeth's pregnancy. The feast's observance dates to at least the fourth century, with explicit mention in the Council of Agde's canons from 506 AD, underscoring early church recognition of John as the forerunner who prepared the way for the Messiah per Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1. Liturgical celebrations include vigils on June 23 (St. John's Eve) with bonfires symbolizing John's role as a "burning and shining lamp" (John 5:35), though these practices trace to pre-Christian solstice rites co-opted by the church without altering the core doctrinal emphasis on scriptural prophecy.
