That's the reason I bought a Micron in 1995, rather than a Gateway. Gateway couldn't provide the amount of memory I wanted.
I bought a Micron computer in 1995. I had earlier bought a Gateway ordered by phone, but I found that I couldn't get all the memory I wanted in it, so I cancelled the order. Micron actually made memory, so I ordered from them instead and got exactly what I wanted. I still have the computer in my collection with a tag on it noting the exact purchase date.
