I messaged a friend of mine at the Pentagon since it was “unclass”. This person had not seen it or heard of it. I screen shot a copy to them and waiting for a response back. I do find it odd that the JCS addressed it to the “Joint Force”, I have not heard that before. Also, it was extremely odd that the JCS would even address the Branches as a whole. Normally, the Department Heads will handle their own Branches. I was Active Duty for over 20 years and I can’t remember ever getting a white letter from JCS. It always came from the Commandant or the SecDef.

other than sarcastic possibilities - does anyone have a serious explanation where she may be and why? There were threats to her life, maybe LEOs advised her to lay low (?)

I’m 2 miles from a Marine base and nothing odd here. I did see non-typical aircraft launching today though. Not wholly abnormal, but not typical. We do have visiting units that train here from time to time, but this aircraft was a type model that is not on this installation permanently.

under normal circumstances, they have no choice. obey the chain of command or face punitive action. I could only see maybe an administrative separation from active duty as an option to non-judicial punishment.

I live outside of a military installation. They observe quiet hours for civilians during the evening. They conduct training only if they need to.

Typically, Active Duty gets a “72” for MLK day. 3 days off. Normally, a weekend in conjunction with a Friday or a Monday.
