Please look at the wmata metro map since many metro stops are closed https://www.wmata.com/about/news/Inauguration-service-information-and-travel-tips-Metro-ready-for-Inauguration-crowds-will-open-at-4-am.cfm The following stations will be closed, and trains will bypass these stations for security reasons from Sunday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21:

  • McPherson Square (Blue, Orange, Silver lines)
  • Federal Triangle (Blue, Orange, Silver lines)
  • Smithsonian (Blue, Orange, Silver lines)
  • Mt. Vernon Sq.-Convention Center (Green, Yellow lines)
  • Archives-Navy Memorial (Green, Yellow lines) In addition, Pentagon (Blue, Yellow lines) will be closed on Jan. 20.

To do, Where to meet To meet on Sunday, Union station (Union Station on the red line), site https://www.unionstationdc.com is a good place because it it’s indoors, this place is closest the Congress, Supreme Court and The Library of Congress. Good place to meet is coffee shop Au Bon Pain on the ground level.

On Monday, To see the swearing in, if you do not have tickets, you can meet at 4th and Pennsylvania at the National Gallery of Art - East Building, 4th St NW, Washington, DC 20565.

For the parade which starts at 23opm, you can meet at the West Wing Café, Entrance on, 1111 Pennsylvania Ave. N.W, 12th St NW, Washington, DC 20004, since one of the parade entry points is located at 12th and Pennsylvania.

To watch the inauguration balls on Monday night, Union station (Union Station on the red line), site https://www.unionstationdc.com is a good place because it it’s indoors, Uno Pizzeria & Grill is a great place because they have a bar area.

Trivia, if you can’t come to DC, watch the movie No Way Out with Kevin Costner, it starts on Inauguration Day in 1987. It really shows how the swamp works! The entrance in the first scene is the Omni Hotel by Woodley Park metro. If you have any questions please let me know!
