What I like about America taking Greenland is that it humbles the Nordic people. They've been getting very arrogant lately. With their bike lanes, clean cities, economic equality and architectural style
They forgot about step 1. Building a military and defending your territory.
JD’s got a point—Denmark not doing its fair share and is leaving the USA vulnerable from attacks through Greenland. Greenland’s a big deal, and if they’re not pulling their weight as an ally, someone’s gotta take the reins. Sure, the US had bases there post-WWII, and yeah, they left some mess behind—fair to call out. But now, with resources on the table and security in play, it’s no surprise Trump’s eyeing it. Strategic moves, not just charity! I’m all for Trump’s bold calls, even if I’m not American—respect the hustle.
The USA shouldn't sell any advanced technology to other countries because it might get used against the USA. The USA should keep the technological advancements at home. Europe is becoming increasingly hostile towards the USA and I can see a future where the USA and Europe are at war and the USA should actually prepare for that.
Why Finland had plans to attack Soviet Union already in 1938? Why Finland had tried to sign anti-Soviet alliance with Nazis already in 1935? Why Finland helped Nazis to rebuild their navy in 1930s in exchange of Nazis helping to create Mannerheim line? Why Winter War has alternate name Erkko's War in Finnish after a fascist newspaper mogul & foreign minister Erkko?
Soviet Union never invaded Finland, Finland started the hostilities with Soviet Union by shelling Soviet border town killing border guards and it was not even the only attack Finland had done.
According to Soviet sources, conflicts involving the use of weapons on the Soviet-Finnish border were not isolated:
On October 7, 1936 on the Karelian Isthmus a Soviet border guard was killed by a shot from the Finnish side.
On October 27, 1936 two shots from the Finnish side were fired at the chairman of the Vaida-Guba collective farm.
On December 12, 1936, a Soviet border guard was shot at from the Finnish side at the Mainila outpost.
On December 17, 1937, a Soviet border guard at the Ternavolok outpost was fired upon by two Finnish soldiers from Finnish territory.
On January 21, 1938, two Finnish border guards violated the Soviet border at the sixth outpost of the Sestroretsk district, and in an attempt to apprehend them by a Soviet outpost, they put up armed resistance, as a result of which one of the Finnish border guards was seriously wounded.
On October 15, 1939, in the section of the Sestroretsk border guard detachment near Beloostrov, Finland opened machine-gun fire on Soviet border guards when a car with a Finnish delegation returning from Moscow after negotiations was crossing the border.
Finns have a lot to be ashamed of their past. They could have not gone into war if they had accepted the land trade deal Stalin offered and there was never need to ally with Nazis, Finland did that because they were warmongering Nazi country and Finnish Nazis wanted to create Greater Finland. Finland participated in the siege of Leningrad killing a lot of people and also operated literal death camps and massacred Jews.
