And whilst George orwell did see the dangers of how communism could turn into authoritarianism (which it did under Stalin, he was right) he still stated he believed socialism to be the best course of action. You do know george orwell was a communist and he literally fought on the side of the communists during the spanish civil war. He also wrote many books advocating for communism most notably road to wigan pier (highly recommend reading if anyone wants to know what true laisse faire capitalism looks like)
