That was my thought. AI is inevitable, so the best way to keep mankind from being left behind is to integrate AI into mankind itself. Embed some circuitry in the skull, and have any AI's run their evolutionary algorithms based off the person's own neural patterns, creates an intelligence that will think exactly like it's host to the point they may as well be an extension of them.

...Actually, while on the subject, does any one else think the lasers they use to communicate with each other can be used to attack other satellites by focusing a bunch of them together? I was thinking about this a while back, though it was about how they could be used to clean up the orbitals from all the debris from previous rocket launches.
