My understanding is that Blackrock gains it's power and influence from the ability it has to appoint a controlling number of the directors on the Boards of virtually all the top listed companies. Their ability to have sufficient votes to appoint directors comes from all the funds they manage from all around the world, much of which is retirement savings of regular folk. In other words, Blackrock uses our money to run all the corporate/governance agendas they push. What would happen if the Bud Lite Go Woke Go Broke principle was applied to managed funds? What if people stipulated that their money is not to be put in control of Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street etc? What if managed funds run by patriots became well known and the first choice by the people? Maybe a co-ordinated effort by enough awake investors working together can move enough funds out of Blackrock, to force them to reduce their shareholdings in companies, reducing their control. The power of the people has been demonstrated many times recently. Maybe, as a result of the Great Awakening, people power can take on Blackrock.
