Specifically, he mentions USAID vs. Alliance for Open Socieyy International II.
The case centered around this requirement for funding to be given:
As a condition of this funding, entities were required to also promote an anti-prostitution pledge requiring them to establish "a policy explicitly opposing prostitution and sex trafficking", a term known as the Policy Requirement.
We know why NGOs would be against this, unfortunately, but it’s weird that this is what Lauria is directly mentioning here regarding SCOTUS rulings that affect his appeal….
However the denial of his rights in an American courtroom would go beyond the First Amendment to all of his U.S. constitutional rights, according to the 2020 U.S. Supreme Court ruling in USAID v. Alliance for Open Society International Inc., which says that a non-U.S. citizen acting outside the U.S. has no constitutional protections at all.
Is this a correct statement in terms of the law? Or does Lauria have no clue what he’s talking about?
Either way, it’s interesting that human trafficking is once again coming to the fore in the Assange case.

Current student. I wasn’t at the riots, but I can almost guarantee this whole charade was planned months ago.
Why? Because this washed up, desperate to stay relevant woman was invited to speak at WashU’s campus this week. That’s why she was in STL. Yesterday was also our last day of classes. They needed someone prominent to get arrested and make national news, so they made it happen.
And then WUPD and STLPD let the 65+ people arrested yesterday go this morning.
You will note that the Freemason compass is clearly placed within the WashU crest. You ought to look up the history of ThurtenE, the student carnival organization that started as a secret society waaaay back in the day. They still have records kept within the WashU archives that only members and alumni of 13 are allowed to view. But I’m sure they’re fully on the up and up.
They’re likely planning something for graduation, too. People were told they got two physical tickets for two guests to join them at commencement. Instead, an email with a QR code was sent out, so as many random people as possible are now allowed to try to attend. I’m sure the Resist WashU organizers will invite as many instigators as possible.
I’m leaving this place for a bit. I’m weary. It’s all facade, and even though we know the playbook, the sane students have no ability to do anything about it.
Can’t believe I have to live through Summer of Love 2.0.

Pixar published a “Pixar version” of the Tortured Poets Society marketing material. If you don’t know what that is, consider yourself lucky. It essentially involves grayscaling images and putting ~angsty T-swift lyrics~ over the top of them. It’s like it’s 2010 again and the emo/scene kids have discovered Photobucket.
But it’s not just Pixar and Disney on Instagram. It’s the Merriam Webster Dictionary account.
It’s every “meme” account that basically reposts text posts from Tumblr and Twitter.
It’s the NYPost once again pushing her and Travis Kelce.
It’s John Fetterman’s former social media intern making it about working in DC.
None of this hype is normal.

If it happens once, it might be a fluke. If it happens repeatedly, well, I’m not so sure.
Four days after The Grammys, Calvin Harris’ mansion caught on fire. At the time, media outlets were highlighting how he is a Taylor Swift ex.
Now, five days after The Oscars, Cara Delevingne’s mansion goes up in flames. The damage on this one looks more extensive than Harris’ mansion. Delevingne allegedly wasn’t home at the time but someone was injured.
What gives? Burning evidence? Weird that it’s connecting to award show timing…
There’s also Kimora Lee Simmons’ home from this previous December
You can’t even go through security for a domestic flight now without DHS taking your picture to « verify your identity. » They claim it is quickly deleted, but I highly, highly doubt it.
I’m just so tired. I’m tired of liberal idiots allowing this forfeiture of human rights and Justice to sweep this country.
