Does anyone know if Romani Gypsies were Babylonian Jews?

Bohemian, as in the Grove, is a French word meaning Gypsy. Gypsies and Jews earned the same reputations in classical Europe of abducting children, occult sacrifices/rituals, theft, wanderers, and all things wicked.
