Juneteenth has problems. Mainly it's been politicized and pulled into DEI/woke ideology of the left. Its given it a bad taste "Celebrate Juneteenth or you're a biggot". And it doesn't help that there is a political movement still trying to push blame and guilt on people today for slavery in the past.
Plus the name is really bad. And makes it look like a jab at southerner's intelligence or something. I really don't get why they would combine the words June and Nineteenth into one.
But a day celebrating the end of slavery should be widely accepted by Americans, and is a fine thing to celebrate. It its a major step it becoming a free country. People like Liberty and Freedom in America, we memorialize fallen soldiers because they kept the Freedom.
Liberty Day is better branding and would be as acceptable as MLK day.
