Our community holds a breakfast at our Elementary school for our Veterans. Third Graders serve the food items, while 4th graders sing some patriotic songs. We then hold a ceremony at the High school with Middle school students attending.

Have you read any kids books, or seen any good short videos to help 4th graders complete a "Thank you for serving our country" project? After my best attempts, I am reading the same "thank you" stuff I always read. Patriotic materials are harder to find this year over years past.

I am working on a middle school heredity unit. I am surprised to see Natural Selection is now part of evolutionary theory. As I remember, Natural selection expresses genes already in DNA. Evolutionary Theory states that organisms can change greatly over time. Why are they linked so closely together? Every teaching resource I find denies a difference. I need resources that acknowledge God, or at least don't exclude him. I wont teach a theory as fact, and the current resources I am finding use "Science" to make evolutionary theory fact, and make fun of Creationist theory. Thank you for your help Frens.

I refused to show CNN 10 in my class. Now I have to come up with an alternative. Im asking some of my Frens for help. I'm already working 60+ hours a week and need something cheap or free (I will have to pay out of my pocket for it). Thank you for your help.

There have been a lot of questions. I thought I would give an update of my first dose, side effects (if any), and any other thoughts. 1) I took the dose for a 350# person as shown on the plunger. 2) I ate about 4 hours before taking it, and had one brat one hour after taking it. It vaguely tasted like apples (weak flavor). It looked a little like KY Jelly, and it easily fit on a spoon. First real update - 2:42 hours since I took this. No uoset stomach, no poor feeling, and I have been doing yard work. I an also smoking pork loin in my smoker. I feel normal right now. I will update more in the comments Post chnaged per request

Teacher here (on a phone so shorter). With all of the discussion we have about school on some posts I wanted to share some I formation. 1) Teach your young children to read by talking to them often. Talk to them about sounds (look up orthographic mapping), and about word meaning. 2 ) Build a base for math by counting with your children, playing board games, card games, dice games, and having them estimate how much you put into the cart. 3 ) Teach them your values by living your values - the best way to impart character to your children is for them to catch it, instead of hear it. 4) Have conversations about what you believe with your children. It is never to early to help them truly believe, and also ask and answer questions about faith. If you don’t, someone will... 5) The above 4 should keep your child in general education, and most likely push them into the high end of their class. 6) Finally, get involved if your children go to public school. Volunteer in the classroom: on the PTO, and on the School board. Visible parents reduce the chances of bad things being taught. Teachers do remember who helps them, and will go the extra mile for your children when you it there.
