Could he have envisioned the public sentiment shift after building us up so high to be taken back down so quickly by the establishment Democrats? Given Trump’s personality I could see him not wanting an 8 year commitment given his age and success. There were so many opportunities to run years ago without ridicule, but he chose now. Was he a reluctant participant? Could this be the true meaning behind “you’re watching a movie”? Looking back at all of our frustrations over the last year I can’t help but feel like there was a lot of pulled punches. I hope we’re not just along for the ride through this regime, but I feel like I might understand why that might happen.
