Our faith is small, but still we seek You. You are the only answer!

Send more workers for the field, Lord, and help us show them the truth of You. You are the only cure for the hard times which are here already and are sure to come!

Help us today in our humanity, as a community of believers, may we humble ourselves and pray for resolution to the world’s problems, instead of starting more among ourselves.
You’ve given us such an intricate and complete guidebook to the problems of this world, Lord, and the Spirit to guide us besides.
How can we keep ignoring it all to stay stubbornly in conflict?
Bring us out of our own egos and fallacies, Lord, and help us focus on working for Your purposes instead.

You know, people don't adequately prepare the young honeymooners for that.
When you're newly in love and talking about marriage and drooling over each other, you always say stupid things like "we want to have 10 kids in the first 10 years!"
And that's when we older folk should pounce!
That's when we could really do them the service of just terrifying the living crud out of them.
I mean, really do Bill Gates a favor and scare them right into never reproducing.
All you would have to do is well and efficiently explain that you'll stop drinking to be a better parent, (and because you never have adult time without being in charge of someone else's survival), but the hangovers will somehow continue for the next decade.
You'll wake up every morning with cotton mouth and a headache and eyes that feel like they have glass in them, and feeling like you have been kicked by a tiny mule all night long, likely because that's not far from what happened.
They never stay out of your bed! In fact, you never get any privacy at all. Want to pick your own nose, maybe rub it on their wall?
You can't, they'll be right there, watching you.
Even if they were upstairs at Grandma's eating fresh baked cookies the moment before that, they'll be right there, looming, silent for once in their lives, just catching your immature revenge-parenting behind!
I know you caught that little nugget in there.
Yes, we live with my mom. I'm not only destined to always be caught out in my immature revenge-parenting but I live under a real life cookie baking Grandma lady who had about 40 years more parenting experience than me and a straight up license to still call me onto the carpet for the weird stuff I do.
My kids tattle on me more than they tattle on each other these days.

Freedom begins with The Lord. Made complete in Jesus, we are give always only free choice by His hand.
A God so powerful He speaks into existence all of life has given us the free choice to be against Him. He loves us so much He allows us, if we so choose, to completely deny Him, completely live away from Him, in a world He made. He ceded portions of that creation as temporary territory to those living life under the sun so that they may have that free choice.
I would say that is a God who respects the minds and hearts of those He created and that He wants us to make our own choices, hopefully following His leading and wisdom, in the rest of our lives.
There are those out there who have turned against this freedom. They count it their enemy, sure that some imagined greater good should be counted higher.
Should I then, as a follower of Christ, bow to this idea? Unthinkable. What He values, so do I. What He honors, so must I.
His ways are higher. Higher than me, and higher by far than ideas borrowed from those standing against Him.
If you don’t value the choice of the individual, you are operating against Christ.
The Bible calls for those who will choose to live in God’s will to follow His guidance, to be servant hearted and to care for the community, but it does not ever ask people to subjugate self to any “greater good” other than following Christ.
Once we are in steady relationship with Him, the Spirit guides us to our individual work among His plans for this world.
When we go off thinking we know what is good and expecting God to back us up without measuring that good against the only real barometer of good (His Word), we are anti-Christ.
Using our individual freedom of choice and expecting and allowing others to use theirs is one main way we follow Jesus. Knowing myself and my will are no higher than that of another created being, no matter how good I think my ideas may be for them, is part of being humble in Christ.
His thoughts are higher. He has a plan to save the world, to cleanse and save any and all who come and cling to Him. When I decide I’ll join the world in efforts to save itself, to cling to life in the body and under the sun, that’s me choosing to work against Him.
Jesus never stopped respecting individual choice. He who could have compelled any one to any thing never did so.
When in doubt, I try to remember to default to the Gospel. If we really want to do good for the most people in this world, that is the best and strongest tool.
By all means, be a good steward of any part of the world God has given you to care for, but let us not commit such hubris as to think He has given it all in to our hands to save or change aside from Him. Any good we do here is for Him, is through His Word spoken for that purpose.
Lord,
Help us not put ourselves higher than You. Let us remember that when we freely choose to follow You, we should not seek to then fit You into the shape of our ideas.
Lord, we confess we often see others doing things we don’t think are right or good, even other Christians. Help us to honor the freedom You gave us, and to love each other anyhow.
We the church are aching to come together and to hold each other up in love and fellowship, and that begins with respect for the individual relationships we each have with You. We can be confident that You, in that relationship, will grow us and guide us each in Your good timing.

I just heard my Grandma say "Follow The Money" at a Sunday morning breakfast. She's what I think of as "accidentally based" because she was never asleep. She's just a common sense woman who has been around and watching since 1932.
I titled this "A Prayer After A Breaking Point" but perhaps I'll change it to "A Prayer About Returning To The Lord Again". Either way, it's a prayer about how wonderful it is when the Lord helps us return to the way we should be going after we wander, even unintentionally. A Prayer For Discerning What Is Caesar's (How To Pick Your Battles) Lord,
Lately I’ve been struggling with knowing which battles to fight! There are so many problems worth my attention, so many things that could be protested, so many lines to draw in the sand and stand upon!
But I’m only one person Lord, and this battle won’t be won by me. Restoring liberty takes Your kind of Power, Lord, and Your Miraculous Strength!
Give me discernment of the Spirit, Lord
Help me stay in such close relationship with You that I hear what You are telling me, that I see where You want me to focus my energy.
I will remember, Lord, that You raise up authorities for Your purposes and that I must endure for the good of Your Kingdom, and if I must, I will remember You will be there with me!
Lord, thank You for Your wisdom and protection. I will render unto Caesar what belongs to him, but I will bow to worship only You.
I will wait for Your call to know when the time comes to stand against the tyrannies of our day. I will be ready when it comes to stand, knowing You give all strength.

Reading Daniel after the Tony Evans sermon called Surviving In A Declining Culture (so worth watching) and thinking about that ancient human trafficking and what is not mentioned in the Bible story, like why they were sent off and fattened by a foreign King, inspired me to write this prayer. May we all be Daniel when our day in the furnace comes. Oh, Lord, I pray over the health of these Christians and I pray that You heal them supernaturally. Lord, I have seen these local churches striving to become lamp stands in dark times. Let them continue forth boldly under Your divine protection and achieve that! Let none bow to Caesar instead when You have called us forth with the assignment of being Apostles for Christ. I’m so grateful You help them hold each other up to speak truth to the confused world: that all here die and this world ends, and only life in Jesus Christ is eternal. Let us cling to that when our own fears come forward and let us all proclaim that to the world urgently! Amen.

A friend was telling me that by 2022 there will be no option to homeschool your children in France. It's a worry we share that these laws will come here. You see from some other posts that I also worry over children for many other reasons. It is an emergency. I had a bit of a long and convoluted prayer I've been working on and not getting solidified in my head, and that really did bring things into focus well. I'm so worried about all children everywhere, but teaching at VBS made some of that back off. It's because I did some tiny bit to stave off what I always see as the essential emergency of our time.
