The Biden administration is reportedly preparing to release upwards of $100 million in new aid to Palestine as the White House organizes a new push for Middle East peace and renewed negotiations.
“The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the State Department have sent notification to Congress of their intent to deliver approximately $125 million in assistance to the Palestinians, according to a congressional source,” reports The Hill.
“The funds were largely appropriated in the 2020 budget, but the Trump administration blocked nearly all aid since it severed ties with the Palestinian Authority in 2018,” adds the website.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department will ask U.S. attorneys who were appointed by former President Donald Trump to resign from their posts, as the Biden administration moves to transition to its own nominees, a senior Justice Department official said Monday.
But the U.S. attorney overseeing the federal tax probe involving Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, will remain in place. The acting attorney general, Monty Wilkinson, called U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who runs the federal prosecutor’s office in Delaware, and asked him to remain on the job, the official said.
The Justice Department has been investigating the finances of Hunter Biden, including scrutinizing some of his Chinese business dealings and other transactions. The tax investigation was launched in 2018, the year before the elder Biden announced his candidacy for president. Hunter Biden confirmed the existence of the investigation in December after a round of subpoenas was issued in the case.

The first confirmation hearing for a crucial position in the Biden administration has been postponed.
The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence postponed Friday's confirmation hearing for President-elect Joe Biden's pick to be the next director of national intelligence, Avril Haines, the committee's leadership said in a statement Thursday night. It is not clear if the hearing will be rescheduled before or after Wednesday's inauguration.
A source familiar, who said the timeline for confirmation is not expected to be altered significantly, said the reason for the delay was a senator wanted the hearing in person, and Friday's session was slated to be remote.
The committee had been seeking to expedite the hearing with a virtual session but needed consent from all the senators on the panel to do so.
Biden transition team spokesman Ned Price said the team was "disappointed" by the delay.
"DNI-designate Haines was looking forward to appearing before the Committee tomorrow. We are disappointed the hearing was delayed, particularly given the urgency to have national security leaders in place in this time of crisis. Nevertheless, DNI-designate Haines eagerly awaits the opportunity to answer the Committee's questions next week," Price said.
Acting Intelligence Chair Marco Rubio, a Republican from Florida, and Vice Chair Mark Warner, a Virginia Democrat, said Thursday night the committee is working "as fast as possible."
"Despite the unusual circumstances on Capitol Hill, the committee is working in good faith to move this nominee as fast as possible and ensure the committee's members have an opportunity to question the nominee in both open and closed settings. The Director of National Intelligence plays a crucial role in overseeing the 18 agencies that make up our nation's Intelligence Community, and the committee looks forward to holding a hearing next week with Ms. Haines," their joint statement read.
Haines, a former top CIA official and deputy national security adviser, would be the first woman to lead the US intelligence community if confirmed by the Senate.
