This is a kill shot catch, there is no refuting this

If you arrive on a day that is guaranteed to have a ceremony conducted whether you show up or not, there's going to be a wreath there already. This was Veterans day. Likewise on memorial day where Trump shows up 30 minutes late to the actual ceremony.

But on inauguration day, or like with all the other links, you're the ceremony, and you're laying the wreath. This was basically Biden's day yet he didn't lay the wreath.

Comparison of the '21 gun salute' of all passed presidents in the TV age

TLDclick - Only Biden was refused a saluting with 21 guns immediately after taking his oath.

Comparison of past president wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington

TLDclick - Only Biden was denied laying the wreath, could approach and pay respects only

This is another great pickup. They are saluting, and you're right. Biden wasn't saluted at this point either. Can anyone find anyone saluting Biden at any point ever??

Thing is, can't be sure if those instances are salutes to the POTUS or the wreath/TotUS

The wreath laying ceremony is not listed as being modified in any way on the Arlington National Cemetery in the covid section. It's all just boiler plate wear your mask and social distance where you can.

Glad you did watch it though, I had to have the sound off to get through it. And because of it, I missed things that others found. Thankfully over overwatches overlap. They are going to regret thinking they could treat these serious matters like a theatre game.

Don't have any reason to believe that.

While there's no dates for the earlier presidents, and some of the later ones appear mid term, Trump's video is from immediately before his inauguration on the 19th of Jan on 2017. If there was ever a case that it would be different in one case or another, we have spanned the gamut yet in ALL cases it's the same ... except with Biden.

Here's one of Trump where he doesn't present, but he arrived 30 minutes late to the memorial day ceremony, ie one being held whether he showed up or not, rather than inaugural ones where you're the whole reason for it (Like with the other Trump video, and Biden's non laying case).

Hell, I even found one of Prince Harry being allowed to lay a wreathe, so it tanks the 'foreign dignitaries can't lay', but it's still a case of Biden not being permitted when you'd think he would.

Literally the only example we have of not, are when you show up late to a ceremony going on whether you're there or not, and Biden.

I'm trying.

I'll share what I find down my rabbit hole, others share theirs, and together we map out the whole goddamn underground network.

There was an excuse made.

Here are Covid restrictions on the Arlington National Cemetery Website, wreath laying are still taking place and nothing suggests the ceremony is modified in any way.

Agreed, and I for one am not prepared to condemn him for being imperfect and failing to see a picture so large it's taken the rest of us a LIFETIME to piece together, not am I prepared to condemn him for not having a family sufficiently perfect to guide him perfectly.

What a standard to hold others to.

Arlington is not part of the District of Columbia, aka Washington, DC

GREAT ADDITION

It really does look as though the military only recognizes Biden as President of DC, if that

4
ObjectiveReality 4 points ago +4 / -0

I agree, let's cancel him. He should be perfect by the age of 20 or else.

Great catch

Absolutely spectacular pickup

Here's Obama

And Bush

And Clinton

And Reagan

Only Biden was denied the laying. could approach and pay respects, but not lay it. Aligns with being a foreign dignitary rather than the POTUS.

Sandman is barely an adult and is still trying to figure all this out. Cut the man some slack.

As a rule, the firing of a salute will begin at the time the person entitled to it

There's a reason for everything the military does, especially when it comes to ceremony. You don't just move the salute to the following day, or hold it off site. The inauguration isn't a wedding where you debate on having the reception before or after. Garth Brooks can sing, but where military protocol has a say, it's explicit.

If Biden was entitled to it, he would have received it. If he was not entitled, he would not be PERMITTED IT. I wish we had a functioning press to ask these sorts of questions.

LBJ & Kennedy are harder

But despite TV not being what it later became, Kennedy got the salute, if you believe this auction for a mortar shell casing from his inauguration.

Here is Nixon's inauguration, all queued up

You can hear the guns, they show the guns

(Yo Carter, why weren't the guns televised in your inauguration my dude?)

2
ObjectiveReality 2 points ago +2 / -0

Hillary was never elected President of the United States and was never inaugurated.

Here is Carter's inauguration, all queued up

You can rarely hear them, but they are there. TV cameras weren't set up to show them this far back it seems

I recall that, but since I was late to the party in that thread, and this wasn't discussed there, I wanted to make a new post so people can compare all three previous presidents all queued up vs Biden.

The last post didn't discuss how clearly divergent from the norm this was.
