But, you decide NOT to introduce the confession or any of the videos of the crime. Because it might upset the jury/courtroom and it seems unsportsmanlike to slam-dunk the defendant like that. You decide to just try the case on the other circumstancial evidence instead.
In the end, the defendant is found not guilty and walks. Plus, he sues the estate/family of the victim for damages and court costs.
By not invoking the Insurrection Act , this is basically the equivalent of what Trump would be doing. How many people think he's going to NOT invoke the Insurrection Act?
