Damn, good question -- From what I've seen, no, this is not a hate-filled extremist group, but then again, that's not what I expected to find here. If I thought this was a violent extremist group, I wouldn't have come here: I have no interest in playing with fire.

What I've seen here doesn't fall under that category; I've never read a post here that made me go, *Wow I should call the FBI."

What I have seen is kind of a.... extreme frustration, like a perpetually-delayed gratification that is really, really, really, really, really eating away and weighing people down.

That doesn't make a person violent, but I think it can make a person desperate, and desperation can take a person in all sorts of directions. When I think about "the threat of Qanon" or whatever the news calls it, what comes to mind isn't right now -- it's three months, six months, a year from now, if/when the gratification is still delayed.

I'll be here until I'm banned, he said, tempting fate.

Important but finite.

EDIT Adding on -- analogy off the top of my head: the USA is like a mom and dad and fifty unruly teenagers at home, with an "our house, our rules" system. The teenagers can do whatever they want: California can dye its hair blue, Florida can do Florida things, but just don't break the overarching rules the house requires/prefers to run on. In return, there are some serious benefits to living under this particular roof.

Aww thanks lol -- sometimes the shilling/backhanded instinct speaks up, I gotta admit. This is the internet, it's a tough habit to break.

I like something bright but also cozy and inviting, so I might be bold and say SW 6807 Wondrous Blue: https://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6807-wondrous-blue

But honestly honey it's whatever's in our budget.

For politics? Washington DC journalists' Twitter accounts, and posts on this site. Gives me a good variety of takes on the day's events.

For fun? Movie subreddits, I'm a movie fan.

I've changed my mind a lot over the years; I've been through a few big dramatic life experiences, and nothing opens your eyes like a bad time.

Yes I do, because I recall who he was up against: the way I see it, voters wanted a more stable leader, after four years of Trump's unpredictability -- Sleepy Joe is more stable.

I have seen the evidence and watched the videos, but suffice it to say, it just doesn't hit me the way it hits the Q crowd.

I'm torn on elaborating; I started typing more and I wrote the words "cherry-picking" and "confirmation bias" and it honestly felt like I was trying to start a fight. I'll wuss out and leave it there.

If I slip up and fall into aCkTuAlLy mode, call me out on it.

Appreciate the punt kick -- I'm peering in on the rabbit hole for now, but if the rug gets pulled out from under me, I'll be here.

If the current and future auditors prove reliable, damn skippy.

I trust the State to a degree, because I trust people to a degree.

John Boehner had a good line about Congress (paraphrased from memory): it's some of the absolute best, worst, smartest, and dumbest people you've ever met. Apply that to all government and it fits like a glove, and the cost of citizenship is figuring out which people are which.

I think that's called a loaded question? Like "Have you stopped beating your wife?"

Gotta back it up, rewind the assumption: I, frankly, don't believe the Dems did that.

In my mind, this is where we start trading evidence and debating points and ultimately hating each other and bitterly parting ways, but I'm totally cool skipping that part -- been a long day, I'm sitting here eating ice cream out of the container, I'm too happy to fight.

Ayyyyy, didn't even notice that, awesome :)

I may not be on the same wavelength as y'all, but I do recognize it's a wavelength worth learning about -- I'll be here until I'm not.

Gosh, by this point, I need to change my username.

Maybe I should've said "leftist" instead -- in any case, one of the big targets for mocking/etc on this site in particular.

But yeah -- there's totally a Horseshoe Theory at play with the whole right-left thing.
