the bath house in question, mans country , had no such plaque.

rumors from his days as a state senator are that the illinois state police showed up at the front desk during the daytime and shook them down for his membership information and visit history from the card catalog.

this was going around before anyone had heard of larry sinclair , or before anyone cared who he was - let alone had a national stage or presidential ambitions.

while i dont know if that story is TRUE, it wouldnt make sense for them to demand that his membership and visit log be obliterated and then have some kind of "plaque" announcing the barry room :)

gays that knew about it ignored it "because he's one of ours" , there are other names in illinois that have been outed but not back then.
