I am 61 years old, overweight but, otherwise in good health. This past winter my adult daughter came down with either bacterial or viral meningitis...docs aren't sure which one because they couldn't get any fluid when they did multiple spinal taps. I stayed at her home for a couple of weeks to take care of kids while she was at hospital and then recuperated at home.

Fast forward a few weeks when she came down with the cootie virus. She was terribly sick for 20 days...is finally over it. Throughout the entire time I drank 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (unfiltered with the mother) + 1 tablespoon of lemon juice (the cheap, concentrated stuff) + 1 tablespoon of unfiltered, raw honey mixed into 8 oz of hot water (can drink it cold if you wish). Adjust the amount honey as desired. I drink a cup every night and increase to as much as I can take if I start to feel something coming on. I have not had a cold, stomach bug or anything in years. I urged my daughter to drink it before her symptoms really kicked in but, she could not tolerate it....its an acquired taste I guess.

I believe I came down with very mild symptoms of the cootie virus; diarrhea for a couple of days, a dry cough and a nagging headache that lasted a couple of days. I did not get tested but I'm pretty sure I had it.

From what I have read, the ACV & lemon juice are both highly acidic but when you combine them and consume them they alkalinize your body and diseases don't like alkaline environments.

I'm not advocating for people to not get tested nor go to their doc, everyone needs to decide what's best for themselves but, I can attest that I faced some really bad germs and beat them. There are side effects of consuming too much ACV over prolonged period....everything in moderation.
