Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 20201, also known as H.R. 4, Breitbart News reported.They were hoping you weren’t paying attention.The bill passed along party lines, 219-212, with Democrats (obviously) strongly in favor of the act, and Republicans in opposition.The bill, named after the late congressman Rep. John Lewis (D-GA), a prominent civil rights activist, should more have aptly been called the “Elect Democrats in Perpetuity Act.”The legislation, in clear violation of Article II, Section I, Clause II of the United States Constitution would remove control over elections from the states, where that article places them and instead put elections under the control of Washington, D.C., bureaucrats.Under the law, the legislation mandates that any state or its political subdivisions (read counties, cities and towns) would have to obtain preclearance from either the (politically charged) Department of Justice (DOJ) or the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia prior to making any changes which might affect “voting rights"Under the measure, a state and its political subdivision would be subject to preclearance for a ten-year period under the following circumstances:15 or more voting rights violations occurred in the state during the previous 25 years; 10 o4 more violations occurred during the previous 25 years, at least one of which was committed by the state itself; or Three or more violations occurred during the previous 25 years, and the state administers the elections; A political subdivision as a separate unit shall also be subject to preclearance for a 10-year period if three or more voting rights violations occurred there during the previous 25 years. In addition, states must notify the public of changes to voting practices (already done). The measure also mandates that courts must take under consideration the history of voting discrimination in the state or political subdivision.However the measure is chock full of holes, probably deliberately. For example, as Breitbart notes the above triggering events do not necessarily have to be bona fide violations of voting rights.Thusly, if leftist groups were to file lawsuits against Democrat-controlled cities for typical election integrity safeguards and the city were to admit fault and settle the matter, rather than defending it in court, which would in fact count toward the tally which would trigger preclearance requirements for the entire state.In other words, Democrats could game the system.Not surprisingly, House Republicans eviscerated the legislation.One such Republican was Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL) who warned Americans not to be fooled by the legislation in the following tweet:Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) said, “H.R. 4 gives the Biden DOJ authority to designate a voter ID law as a voting rights violation or as evidence of voting discrimination. It would explore statehood for the District of Columbia (clearly unconstitutional), would look into extending voting rights to United States territories such as Puerto Rico and Guam, would establish complete Congressional takeover of redistricting.Probably one of the most damning and frankly tyrannical proposal is found in Sec. 3201 of the Bill, NATIONAL STRATEGY TO PROTECT UNITED STATES DEMOCRATIC INSTITUTIONS.Sounds noble, right? However as always happens with Congressional bills, the devil is in the details. Here they are:

Braynard says no ID is required for WI residents to obtain absentee ballots through claims of being "indefinitely confined." I somehow missed this vitally important detail before now; it sure opens up a bigger can of worms than I'd realized.
(I had been thinking these were vaild people/voters who were afraid of covid, so they applied for 'indefinitely confined' ballots. Their votes were illegal simply because they didn't legally qualify as 'indefinitely confined.' Seems there's a lot more to it than that. Silly me!!!)

Braynard says no ID is required for WI residents to obtain absentee ballots through claims of being "indefinitely confined." I somehow missed this vitally important detail before now; it sure opens up a bigger can of worms than I'd realized.
(I had been thinking these were vaild people/voters who were afraid of covid, so they applied for 'indefinitely confined' ballots. Their votes were illegal simply because they didn't legally qualify as 'indefinitely confined.' Seems there's a lot more to it than that. Silly me!!!)
