Wow, this was an eye opening video! I was unaware of the history behind NSAM (National Security Activation Memorandum) 57. Really brings home the interconnectivity between President Trump, President Kennedy, and an out-of-control CIA.
So GEOTUS activated JKF's NSAM 57 on November 18th which essentially has Special Ops now reporting directly to Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller. If I'm understanding this correctly, #57 does a serious end run around the CIA by cutting them out of the loop when it comes to SpecOps authorizations/activations. This is a big deal!
When JFK wrote #57 (and #55 to set up #57) in the early 60s, the CIA moved against him to maintain control and shut down JFK's attempt to reign them in and pull control back under the office of the president. The CIA was already an entity unto itself at that point and wasn't willing to give up power. This clash almost certainly motivated the assassination of JFK.
Since NSAM #57 was already on the books, President Trump wasn't enacting any new policy during this interim period between the end of his first term and the determination of our next president, which is typically frowned upon. Trump was just using the powers already put in place. This is an amazing move! Trump has proven over and over again that he is a master of strategy! Undercutting the CIA is definitely a necessity in getting our government back on track!
