Department of the Treasury operates CFIUS. Wouldn’t be surprised if the hack was an excuse to coverup misdoings there in regards to land and other asset purchases by foreign entities. This would also be an excellent strategy to further obfuscate foreign ownership in the event that we do start nationalizing foreign owned companies and assets.
