Yaaaaayyyy! Yes. That's exactly it. You're the best Anon! Thank you.
End of the exchange was: “I’ve got a lot of people that care about me, and it’s going to disappoint them to hear that I did this,” Russell told air-traffic controllers, according to recordings. “I would like to apologize to each and every one of them. Just a broken guy, got a few screws loose, I guess. Never really knew it until now.” Shortly after, his plane crashed into the tiny, mostly uninhabited Ketron Island. Russell did not survive; authorities said he was “suicidal.” Very strange stuff. That was Aug. 10, '18, one month after the Q post. I haven't found anything about the guy other than about the incident. USS Richard B. Russell has been out of service since '94. Curious about what you're thinking OP.
As in USS RICHARD B RUSSELL? Would love to hear the context there. One of the Projects boats - very little data out there.
The pilot of the stolen Q400 was named Richard B. Russell. There is a submarine by the same name at a naval scrap-yard... but deets on whether it was actually scrapped or retro-fitted was a question, iirc.
The naval base is close to where the plane was taken for a joyride. After the Skunkbay weather report on the "mystery missile" was mentioned, people are thinking the launch-pad for that missile may have been a retro-fit submarine. iirc
Gentlemen that took the photo had a poster mention no noise present on missile launch. That confirms to me it was sub based, RED OCTOBER confirmed? Rogue sub?
So what w as the final conclusion? The guy stole the plane to intercept the missile? Or, he never stole the plane ?
He stole the plane, even did stunts but no, the missile was fired later. The connection is his name and the sub- the only sub to ever carry that name -and the "Q" designation on the plane.
Whidbey Island (the naval base) and Keytron Island (where the plane was crashed) are both located in Puget Sound Washington.
Skunk Bay (where the 'missile' was fired) is located in Hansville which is also very near Whidbey Island.
I recall it speculated he was piloting it remotely, crashing into that island as an excuse to get investigators onto it.
It came up in conversation over on The Donald, needed to gather some links (1479 and 1845) but could only find one. If you have anything cool to share on the subject, please do.
