I have gone over there to try and see what research they're cooking up, and I have no idea what I'm even looking at. I'll click through a few posts and all I seem to see are unrelated memes and images. There's hardly ever actual text of people discussing anything. It's just like strange links and indecipherable conversations.
I do have high respect for their intelligence. I consider myself above average but I know my limits- I'm not the smartest guy in the world. I consider people here to be decent intelligence as well. But whatever's going on with that site, I almost get the feeling you need a high level of intelligence just to even figure out what's going on. Or am I just retarded? Lol. Seriously.
Lack of censorship doesn't bother me at all. I likely would never post there because I just don't think I could have anything to contribute. Thank you for those warnings. I would never post my information. Regarding that, the sternness of your warning is interesting in itself. Is it the users that will dig into who you are, or other bad actors lurking?
Everyone has value OP. You can learn it. djmarcone gave you great info to get anyone reading it.
It’s the collective of minds that’s makes it so powerful and your experience and thought are invaluable. Post when you have insight, watch/read when you don’t.
Don’t be afraid to explore a new challenge.
One add on to what djmarcone said, when you go to post, if the board is full, it’s full at 761, you can’t post. You can know how many posts are in it by going to the bottom, you will see a count.
If it’s full, return to the catalog, look for the most recent general thread as he explained, and post the most current one that isn’t full.
I'd say bad actors might dox you if you post a name but it's basically the #1 no-no. everyone there has the same name, and that is anon. Other than Q.
It's called "namefagging" and it results in immediate ridicule and a dead giveaway that you're a "newfag" so just don't do it.
Also "faggot" is a term of endearment. For instance, if you are a doctor you might post some insight and say that you're a medicalfag or something.
People who are obsessed with tracking flights are called planefags and so on. If you're at work you might say that you're workfagging right now and can't post much.
Anyway, just go lurk. :)
I've posted there several times but only when I had something relevant to divulge. The crap posts come thick and fast. You click on a thread that has, say, 400 posts and by the time you scroll to the bottom, it's reached 751 and you have to go back to the catalog page to find the next thread. It's a bit like panning for gold. You search through a huge bunch of shit before spotting a nugget.
