Perhaps choosing a different running mate would have buried his crimes. And choosing someone else would have cut into his base. I know alot of people who love pence and voted for trump because of him on the ticket. Trying to tell them he's DS landed on deaf ears. Maybe showing his corruption is all part of the take down plan.
