There have been many, many murdered under the cloak of "science and medicine". Many were not during the reign of the Third Reich. Not excusing that horror but it wasn't the limitation of what monsters would do in fooling people into doing what they were instructed and becoming terribly injured or killed as a result. If it isn't done by force than how better to convince people to do what you want than by waving over them the ultimate fear: death? How fortunate it is that most human beings haven't the slightest clue about how the human body works.
