I have a feeling that something is wrong with the voting on posts here.
Here is what happens:
- I wanna to up-vote some post. I'm on the post page (not the list). Initial counter is: 220.
- I vote for it and the counter goes up to 221 and shows the color that I've already up-voted.
- Now I refresh the page and it shows ... 220. It's the old number but it shows the color still, as if it was up-voted.
- Now I remove my vote and it goes down to ... 219. It's weird because it's less that was initially before my original up-vote.
- I refresh the page and it changes back to 220 (oiriginal value).
The conclusion is:
- Assumption: The values after each refresh seem to be important because all other values are volatile and can indicate a bug in Javascript. After the refresh it shows what the server has / is aware of / presents to the others.
- If I refresh with my vote (after up-voting and before removing it) - my vote doesn't count.
- If I refresh without my vote (after removing my up-vote) - my vote doesn't count.
- Considering 2 above: My up-vote doesn't count in both cases whether I up-vote, or not, whether I remove it or not.
Is this a bug or my account is flagged here as deplorable?
Do you have the same problem?
^This.
If you have any add-ons like NoScript make sure the authorization for the authentication.win script did not dropped or clereared. It happened to me yesterday, not idea how could it have happened. Same if you use a cookie add-on.
That might be causing the issue, but it all depends onyour setting. I use third-party cookie restrictions settings and a cookie manager add-on to manage the visted sites cookies.
Try loosing the restriction a little bit and see what happens, for privacy concerns just make sure you do not have other sites or tabs open when you do your test.
