I'm an Ulster protestant, we have a group amongst us called the orange lodge. It's somewhat like freemasonry but not connected to it in any way. It's something we made ourselves and it's biblical based.
The story goes that what was happening was Irish Catholics kept sneaking into towns and killing prods in their beds. They planned this in their Catholic churches under jesuit supervision. One day a good Catholic didn't like that they were going to do it to a neighbouring town and he warned a few protestants from that town.
So they gathered their arms and rounded up loyal friends and waited up all night for the attackers. The attackers came in the early hours and walked right into an ambush and got killed.
The protestants then got their flutes and drums and marched around the Catholic town that plotted to kill them all.
They realised that they needed to networks a defensive structure to rally fighters if it ever happened again. They then got friendly Catholics or themselves to go to Jesuit inspired churches for info on future attacks.
The jesuits and rebels could no longer plan attacks without it being known by protestants and them walking into another ambush. So they stopped attacking protestants.
Yeah definatly, it helps you to keep a militia based culture as well. Your independence day you have flute bands, these American patriots were descended from Ulster, what you call scots-irish.
We celebrate that way our independence day on the twelfth of July.
Here's a clip of the Sash's that Orangemen wear and flutebands.
You're welcome, fuck the jesuits

This is one of the houses they defended and made the orange order to defend rural towns in Northern Ireland.
Who’s to say we don’t?
