I think Trump had a preference that he would've liked to see from Pence, but he let Pence do what he was going to. I think they had plans for any of the directions the Pence could go in, and let him do his duty. Disinfo to criticize Pence's actions. Had to have the treasonous certification occur, and couldn't have his or Pence's fingerprints on it whatsoever.
