Today's Flightradar24 revealed a very rare animal in the air near the shores of Delaware today - an EC-130J Commando solo, a four-engine Hercules transport hauler specially modified to conduct Military Information Support Operations (MISO) and civil affairs broadcasts in FM radio, television and military communications bands.

There are only three such machines in the USANG inventory, operated by the 193rd Special Operations Wing, Pennsylvania Air National Guard, stationed at Harrisburg International Airport, Middletown, PA.

The mods having been made to the aircraft include enhanced navigation systems, self-protection equipment, air refueling but especially the capability of broadcasting analog radio (FM) and analog color TV on all worldwide standards.
