Not aimed at you, but I am tired of people dissing Hope. Its one of the three theological virtues.

To paraphrase from Ludwig Von Mises "Human Action" - Humans are beings that Act. That is they employ means to achieve ends.

Hope is the disposition towards failure or setbacks. It is the belief that one's actions can make a difference. It is literally the opposite of passive. Without hope wallowing in despair paralyzes a person.
