Windows:
Assume admin rights and rename the old file in file explorer called hosts to hosts_backup.
Then, put the file you have downloaded from http://205.251.111.249/win/hosts as the new c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Some browsers might warn you that the file is "not commonly downloaded and may be dangerous" On Chrome, click the up arrow in the warning and select "keep"
Go to http://emergency.voxday and you will find some instructions. If all other comms have disappeared there are new hosts files behind that link with more entries in it. .
Any site with an entry will override what the system gets from a poisoned DNS entry. This will bring the major services back at any time in the future.
Please keep that one additional line, it wont interfere with your normal internet, it will simply allow that URL to always be opened.
There are no instructions in the link as yet but will be if the internet collapses.
Linux and Mac:
Add this line to the end of your hosts file in /etc/hosts
205.251.111.249 emergency.voxday
I hope this helps, I have described it as best I can.
Thank YOU!
