Lets say the world actually did end and these rich survivalists actually survived. How would humanity actually go on? I assume these people are not bushcraft survivalists or farmers so how will they survive when their food stash runs out? If they have enough for the rest of their lives and even beyond, it still has to be finite so how would their offspring, being the remainder of humanity, survive?
