Is this part of the plan or something? It’s stickied on TD.win. Hmm...

Okay, my last time saying this on the these boards.
Look up Operation Bodyguard from WW2 to understand about comms.
Real brief. There were two military groupings being trained for D-Day. The one that eventually invaded the beaches of Normandy and another that was preparing for the invasion at Calais (the shortest point from the UK to Europe across the English Channel).
The group being trained for the invasion at Calais, trained, worked and BELIEVED they were the ones carrying out D-Day. All the military command of that unit was told it was them also. Secretly, an undercover US "german" spy, passed along communication protocols of that grouping to the germans. The Germans listened in and thought they knew when and where (Calais) the invasion was to take place. It was all a ruse (that even the allies military assigned to the "Calais invasion" didn't know they were a diversion).
The idea was to have the real invasion spot less defended and make Germany commit a good portion of forces to defend Calais. As a result, when the real D-Day invasion happened, once we were over the beaches the allies met very little resistance later that day as German troops were quickly shuttled to where the front really was and the allies true objective was to cut of the Northwestern Carentan peninsula which they had time to do because of the Germans being so far east in Calais.
That being said, until the actual operation happens, expect of a LOT of mis-direction. It is standard military protocol.
