I don't think that's what he means. I think he's referring to big tech blocking apps and maps, not referring to people going anywhere to protest. People that have to travel for work and might suddenly lose access . Most don't have standalone gps devices like we used to.

Better to prepare to be staying home for a could weeks. If you don't know your way around the town you live in, best get to figuring it out WITHOUT help of GPS. If the Net or Cell networks go down, GPS will be of no use to you.
