Possibly, it's been scrubbed, but without a source, I find it hard to promulgate....

I agree. I have heard and seen this quote for decades. Wide spread.

Searching the JFK Library and not finding it, it is either fake, scrubbed or he spoke it and it's on some older recording somewhere and too controversial to include as written form.
